'In-Thru the Repeat', new sculpture
Open Wednesday to Sunday, 12noon - 6pm, or by appointment.
This will be Jeremy Willett's first solo show. Since his MA at the Royal College and being picked for Bloomberg New Contemporaries in 2006 WillettÕs sculptures have come off the wall and escaped the floor, to now inhabit a space created around and for them, a fragment of an interior. The patterns on the wallpaper he has designed and had specially made for this show detach themselves from their origins to find an echo in the three-dimensional works they offset. Equally, as the paint has come off the canvas and on to the sculpture, the gallery is halfway to a fusion with domestic space. The purely decorative is articulated in an environment that actively challenges easy categorisation. Displayed upon custom-made plinths throughout the gallery the works float in an indeterminate space of pure colour and form.
