JEFFORD HORRIGAN in ’30 Artists 30 Days’

Image. Black Lamp Drawing 70 x 100 cm Ink and pencil on paper

In Casablanca there is a scene where Rick and Ugarte dressed in white tuxedos are discussing the acquisition of stolen visas. Behind them is a lamp emitting black light. An experience in Rotterdam a few years ago evoked this image with the same kind of shock. This and waiting form the foundation for the Black Lamp Drawings. That waiting for no purpose where images and visions converge to distort places and thoughts.
