Transit presents JUSTIN HIBBS
Tuesday 11 June 6 – 9pm
Artist Talk starts at 7pm.
Transit operates as a monthly, one night only event that showcases artists in discussion with artist/curators David Ben White and Laura Petrillo. Taking inspiration from the nightly live gig format, Transit offers artists the opportunity to exhibit work in progress, within a similar time slot. By actively encouraging an informal approach to the event, the artists are free to explore possibilities within a public environment. During the evening, the artists will speak about their work/approaches to the installation and answering questions.
Transit would like to thank Keran and Michael at studio1.1 for their inspiration and support for the project.

SHAME
TODAY, with the stifling of Big Ben and any popular dissent we say goodbye to an ignorant, arrogant, philistine bully who continues to set her unkind hand against us all… SHAME on this weak ignoble government

Necessarily partial, a small survey of old and new work from artists we have worked with consistently over the last ten years. Finding ourselves with an unexpected gap in our timetable we realised that we were nearing the tenth anniversary of our unexpected arrival in the ‘Artworld’. So we thought we would for once indulge in a show of just some of the artists who have helped create the identity of the gallery as well as artists we admire.

Transit 2 – JAKE CLARK ‘Golden Homes’
tonight 6 – 9 pm with an artist’s talk at 7 pm…
Golden Homes
This is a group of new paintings made in response to a curated show
called the ‘Perfect Nude’. The original show consisted of 100 artists
making a painting of a nude. This was organized by Dan Coombes and
Phil Allen. The show was put on at Wimbledon School of Art, the
Phoenix Gallery in Exeter and at the Charlie Smith Gallery.
The painting I made for that show has been part of an ongoing project
to create a group of similar works; all on the same scale. This ‘Transit’
project is an opportunity to bring these paintings together as one body
of work.
