AMANDA BENSON ‘Losanges’

8 November – 1 December

Amanda Benson presents constructions multiplied, manipulated from unforgiving wire, and everyday plaster, repeated and piled, knitted together into delicate and delicately coloured forms. An organic minimalism that fleshes out muscle memory to build obsessive matrices, weaving and reconfiguring; scaffolding space itself.

Literal space folds into conceptual space via further intuitive physical geometries. A triangulation that elucidates (even by that which it leaves out) a constant within all art: not only figure, but also ground, and also context. Bold but unassertive, as material as they are ethereal, threatening to dissolve into the space they inhabit, solids melting into air in a crazily fractal ascent.
